Secret Garden Rest Stop

This project focused on providing a rest stop for both locals and tourists, a green oasis in which to relax.

The structure itself reinterprets the traditional topology and building materials of Fez, using them as a base from which to create contrast with it's surroundings.

The lush green that permeates the structure works on 3 levels. Providing contrast to the environment of the medina, creating a cool micro-climate for users, and also making it easy to locate.

Offering up rest space in such a dense & constantly changing area means evolving with the current demand. The Secret Garden Rest Stop reacts to this in its modularity.

Constructed so that sections can be removed and added with ease, taking into consideration the limited access to the site as well as public demand, the structure can grow and shrink with the city.
